In brief: Copenhagen Fashion Summit, December 2009

The Fashion Summit 2009 was a one-day event held at the amazing Copenhagen Opera House. The summit included lectures by prominent speakers, presentations, exhibitions, and a spectacular runway competition by Nordic designers.

Sustainable fashion on the runway

The final event of the day was a runway show of sustainable fashion, made by the best new generation of Nordic fashion designers. Twenty designers competed to win a coveted prize of DKK 50,000 sponsored by H&M.

Danish HRH Crown Princess Mary presented the prize to the winner, Finnish designer, Saara Lepokorpi.

The participants

More than 650 participants gathered at the Copenhagen Fashion Summit to hear the speakers give their take on more environmentally-friendly and ethical approaches to fashion and apparel.

The participants were CEO's and key players from Scandinavian and international fashion companies as well as CSR experts, media, NGO's, royals and politicians - from all over the world.
