London College of Fashion,University ofthe Arts London
20 John Princes Street
London W1G 0BJ

Garments are sold to us as products, yet we live them as a process. Over the last two years we have been shining a light on the unseen, unsung processes and practices of use.

Join us for a mind-opening participatory event that explores fashion for sustainability as emerging from the practices of using garments; where resourcefulness and satisfaction grow out of the cultivated, dynamic and improvised everyday use of clothes.

Share in the first public dialogue around new design research and practice examining the craft of use in fashion as one route to developing the quality of our fashion experience without increasing the quantity we consume.
Including contributions from:
Kate Fletcher, Reader in Sustainable Fashion, London College of Fashion
Jonathon Porritt, Founder Director of Forum for the Future
Avner Offer, Chichele Professor of Economic History, University of Oxford
Dilys Williams, Director of the Centre for Sustainable Fashion, University of the Arts London
Deljana Issifova, Lecturer in Architecture, University of Manchester
The event marks the culmination of the latest phase of research and design activity of the Local Wisdom project originated and led by Kate Fletcher from the Centre for Sustainable Fashion at the London College of Fashion, involving a network of seven international partners and funded byThe Leverhulme Trust. This event is part of the Centre for Sustainable Fashion's 5 year celebration.

There is no charge for this event.
